Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a 5th Grade Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in delivering the Core Knowledge curriculum in an Anthem Archway location. The role emphasizes classroom collaboration, a commitment to liberal arts education, and opportunities for professional growth.

Applicants should have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; some sites may require additional credits or ParaPro testing.

Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Some locations may require AA, 60 hours of college credit, or passing a ParaPro proficiency exam before beginning work.

Responsibilities

Support the lead teacher in implementing a rich Core Knowledge curriculum as a K-5 Teaching Assistant.
Act as a second teacher in the classroom, assisting with planning, grading, and parent communications as an Apprentice Teacher.
Learn from a Master Teacher to develop teaching skills in a classical, liberal arts setting.
Many Apprentice Teachers become lead teachers at lower or upper schools (if a bachelor's degree is obtained).
Support the mission of Great Hearts by contributing to a respectful, intellectually vibrant school community.
Collaborate with teachers to support instruction, student learning, and daily classroom activities.
Uphold school policies and promote an orderly, professional learning environment.
Participate in faculty meetings, school events, conferences, and duties; pursue ongoing professional growth.
