Job summary

BASIS Baton Rouge Materra is seeking a qualified 5th Grade Earth Science Teacher to start ASAP. The role focuses on delivering BASIS Curriculum with subject-specific lesson plans and interactive instruction to achieve exceptional student results.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in the subject (or related credits) and fingerprint clearance. Master’s degree and 2+ years’ teaching experience are preferred. BASIS Ed provides comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours with other degree)
• Valid fingerprint clearance and/or state background check
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans
• Provide instruction at a higher level than grade standard in an interactive environment
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum with engaging lessons and assessments
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement
• Support non-instructional functions (Early Bird, Late Bird, lunch)
• Maintain regular, full attendance
• Supervise students or groups as assigned
