Job summary

CED Systems is seeking a Field Integration Technician to install and integrate Ericsson LTE and 5G equipment at telecom sites. You will work with a small team on various on-site tasks, from hardware installation to commissioning and integration, including testing and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of telecom site experience, familiarity with BB5216/BB6630/BB6648/BB6651/RP6655, and owns basic tools and a vehicle. Willingness to travel and work odd hours is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years telecom site experience required.
• Experience installing, commissioning and integrating Ericsson LTE/5G equipment.
• Hands-on with BB5216/BB6630/BB6648/BB6651/RP6655 per standards.
• Experience with Ericsson cabinets (indoor/outdoor).
• Must have own vehicle and basic tools; travel regionally.
• Able to login to routers, modify scripts and work with IXRe.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and integrate new Ericsson LTE/5G equipment at sites.
• Coordinate tasks with integration engineers on site.
• Perform commissioning and integration of telecom gear; assist with testing and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot alarms, fiber loss, and communications issues; ensure proper port mapping and power connections.
• Maintain professional on-site presence and safety, travel as required.

Job description

We are deploying infrastructure for 5G Networks. A telecommunications startup focused on efficient and strategic support to the nationwide 5G deployment, helping OEMs and operators achieve enhanced connectivity for their networks.

The field integration technician will be responsible for New and existing Technologies integrations to the network. LTE & 5G Integrations as per site requirements and work with the construction crew on site to complete the job scope.
Installation may also be required alongside commissioning and integration tasks.

Responsibilities

• The work involves installing, configuring and later integrating new 5G equipment from Ericsson (as well as de-commissioning and removing old equipment from the site).
• You will be part of a growing team, coordinate tasks with integration engineers, and perform related tasks.
• A qualified candidate will have 1-2 or more years’ experience with working at telecommunications sites (ie, BTS/radio installation, fiber, telco, light electrical, etc). Experience with Installation, commissioning and integration of Ericsson LTE & 5G equipment.
• Good hands on experience on BB5216, BB6630, BB6648, BB6651, RP6655 - installation/harvest as per TMO standards.
  • Good hands on experience on BB5216, BB6630, BB6648, BB6651, RP6655 - installation/harvest as per TMO standards.
  • Should be able to Integrate the basebands with ECI/SIF scripts, ability to make the changes on them if needed.
  • Able to integrate the IXRe and locally login to the router as needed.
  • Understanding the the port mapping, power connections on the Ericsson small cell radios 2203/4402, macro radios 4460/4480/8863.
  • Experience on working on Ericsson cabinets (indoor/outdoor), 6131/6102/6160/6601.
  • Configuring External alarms on the SCU.
  • Call Testing on the Stand Alone bands for N19/N41 as needed.
  • Able to troubleshoot fiberloss alarms, VSWR, no-connection alarms, LOCP alarms.
  • Should have a working Windows laptop will all software/tools.
• Experience with using a Fiber scope.
• Theory and application related to project management, radio access networks, backhaul to sites signaling, disaster recovery planning and response, data services and location-based services.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Specifically, please contact us if you have an EAMS ID and have removed or installed Ericsson LTE & 5G equipment – and especially if that work involved installation and/or commissioning of Ericsson equipment.
• We also expect that you have your own vehicle, a basic set of tools for work on wireless sites, laptop, cell phone, and ability to work outside.

• Associates Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related field preferred. High School diploma and equivalent related experience considered.
• Ericsson 5G technician Certifications.
• Ability to represent company with professionalism.
• Ability to work within Maintenance Window hours (midnight to 6am) or daytime as scheduled based on project scope and adhere reliably to schedule.
• Ability to travel within a region, market or out of market on a project basis.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather throughout the year.
• Ability to use technical skills to work independently and within a team and execute responsibilities as well as solve
• problems.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb a 12 ft ladder.
• Computer and MS Office Proficient.
