The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Chaplain Assistant to provide vital support to Army National Guard Chaplains. You will assist the Unit Ministry Team with programs and worship services, coordinate activities, maintain security of facilities, and support readiness programs.
Position requires military enlistment, must be at least a junior in high school or possess a GED, and be between the ages of 17 and 35. Comprehensive training and various benefits are provided.
A Chaplain Assistant provides vital support to Army National Guard Chaplains, who provide spiritual guidance and support to Soldiers. As a Chaplain Assistant you will primarily assist the Unit Ministry Team with programs and worship services. Specific duties include coordinating Unit Ministry Team activities; maintaining physical security of Unit Ministry Team facilities and equipment; safeguarding privileged communications and offerings; arranging religious retreats and memorial ceremonies; supporting the Unit Ministry Team readiness program; and sustaining Chaplain vestments and religious items.
Job training for Chaplains Assistants requires 10 weeks of Basic Training to master basic Soldiering skills, followed by seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training to learn the roles and responsibilities of Army Chaplains, as well as religious history and background.
