Position Overview

HHSC is seeking a senior-level QA Automation Engineer with at least eight years of experience designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions.

The selected candidate will create automated test scripts, prioritize test scenarios, develop execution plans, prepare test environments, and perform functional, application, and regression testing. This position requires the ability to work independently, manage complex testing activities, interpret business and technical requirements, and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and customers.

Experience testing healthcare applications is highly desirable. Experience with Katalon is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
• Identify and prioritize test scenarios based on application requirements and business risk.
• Create detailed test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test-execution schedules.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate test environments and test data.
• Perform functional, application, integration, and regression testing.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have at least eight years of experience in the following areas:

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing healthcare applications.
• Experience using Katalon for test automation.
• At least two years of experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and its document templates.
• At least two years of familiarity with enterprise information architecture and information-management methodologies.
• At least two years of familiarity with current and planned software technologies, architectures, and infrastructure components at the global, regional, and local levels.

Seniority Expectations

The successful candidate will:

• Have eight or more years of relevant QA automation experience.
• Work independently with limited supervision.
• Use professional judgment to plan and accomplish complex testing objectives.
• Demonstrate creativity and flexibility when resolving complicated quality or automation challenges.

Contract Information

Services are expected to begin on November 2, 2026, and continue through August 31, 2027. The engagement is estimated not to exceed 2,000 hours.

The assignment may be amended, renewed, or extended through written agreement and is subject to applicable HHSC and DIR requirements.

All work products created under this engagement will be considered works made for hire and will remain the property of HHSC. The selected candidate may also be required to successfully complete an authorized criminal background investigation.
