Responsibilities

  • Advocate for appropriate services and accommodations for 504 Students and serve as a liaison across faculty and parents
  • Attend required annual training
  • Convene 504 Committee meetings as needed to review and revise the 504 Plan
  • Coordinate Child Find efforts with the regular education and EC staff
  • Participate on the school's Intervention Team and accept referrals for the Section 504 Committee
  • Collect data necessary to determine a student's eligibility under Section 504, convene the eligibility meeting, and develop a 504 Accommodation Plan where appropriate
  • Maintain the forms necessary for students under Section 504: referral, parental consent, notice of parents' rights, invitation to conference, determination for eligibility, and the individual accommodation plan
  • Provide parents and teachers with copies of the 504 Individual Accommodation Plan
  • Coordinate efforts with other staff members (e.g., testing modifications, scheduling, safe havens, etc.)
  • Monitor implementation of the 504 plans across settings to ensure that the 504 Plan is carried out in the classroom
  • Provide staff development on Section 504 to develop the skills necessary to identify students in need of 504 and to provide the interventions as outlined on the 504 Plan
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all district policies and procedures

Education & Experience Requirements
