Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to identify high-value accounts in materials-hungry industries and lead multi-stakeholder B2B deals from prospecting to close. You will own account strategy, map territory, navigate cross-functional teams including procurement, legal, and finance, and shape the sales motion as the team grows.
Reporting to the VP of Sales, you’ll build pipeline without reliance on premium tools, drive eight-figure revenue opportunities, and mentor at-risk
Phoenix Tailings is a rapidly growing clean mining and metals production startup dedicated to sustainable and economic critical metals production. Our mission is to be the world’s first fully clean mining and metals production company, delivering the essential resources that power modern technologies—without harming the planet.
At Phoenix, we believe that nothing great is ever accomplished alone or without the passion of people who push and motivate one another. If you share our relentless pursuit of a better future, passion for innovation, and excitement about working with some of the brightest minds in the world, then Phoenix Tailings is the place for you.
We're selling something almost nobody else on earth is selling: domestically produced, zero-waste rare earth and critical materials, into supply chains that desperately need an alternative to foreign sourcing. There's no playbook sitting on a shelf for this. No competitor's CRM to poach best practices from. No ZoomInfo subscription doing the prospecting for you.
That's exactly why this role exists.
We're looking for a Strategic Account Manager - someone who can identify the right accounts in materials-hungry industries (automotive, industrial manufacturing, and beyond), get creative about finding the humans who make buying decisions there, and then navigate the genuinely complex, multi-stakeholder sale it takes to land a contract that might run into thousands of tons of material and eight or nine figures of revenue.
You’ll report directly to our VP of Sales and be one of the first dedicated account owners on a commercial team that's still being built in real time. That means outsized ownership from day one, a direct hand in shaping the sales motion instead of inheriting one, and a clear growth path into managing our largest, most strategic accounts as the book matures.
Account & Territory Mapping. Identify the highest-value accounts in target industries, figure out who actually holds buying power inside each one, and build a systematic approach to breaking in - not just working whoever picks up the phone first.
Cross-Functional Deal Navigation. Act as the connective tissue between sales, operations, and finance so that what gets sold is what we can actually deliver. You’ll be the one translating “here's what the customer needs” into “here's what it takes internally to make that real.”
Pipeline & CRM Discipline. Keep your pipeline data clean and your forecasts honest, so leadership can trust what's actually in motion versus what's noise.
Growth Into Key Account Management. As our book of business matures, this role is the on-ramp into owning our largest, most strategic accounts - the kind doing eight figures a year in revenue - not a permanent hunting assignment.
At Phoenix Tailings, we have an open culture that values learning, and we are looking to grow the team with enthusiastic individuals who share our vision of sustainable mining.
