Job summary

Charleston ENT & Allergy, located in Charleston, SC, is seeking enthusiastic 4th Year Audiology Externs to join its team. You will work with experienced audiologists and ENT physicians in a fast-paced setting, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of audiology services for all ages.

The externship emphasizes diagnostic testing, newborn screenings, OAEs, ABR testing, vestibular assessments, hearing aid fitting, and osseointegrated device dispensing.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or completing an accredited Doctor of Audiology program and eligible for externship in SC.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic audiological testing for pediatrics and adults.
• Newborn hearing screenings.
• OAEs (otoacoustic emissions) testing.
• Vestibular testing (VNG).
• ABR testing (sedated and natural sleep).
• Neurodiagnostic ABRs.
• Hearing aid evaluations, fittings, follow-ups, and troubleshooting with multiple manufacturers.
• Ear plug fitting and dispensing.
• Osseointegrated device fitting and dispensing.
• Establish patient rapport, take thorough case history, and counsel patients on the above.

4th Year Audiology Externship

Charleston ENT & Allergy is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Audiology Externs to join our team in Charleston, SC! Our Audiology Department will provide an excellent externship experience as we provide a wide variety of audiology services for all ages. You will work alongside experienced audiologists and renowned otolaryngologist and otologists.

Our fast-paced offices will provide experience in the following to ensure you leave your externship as an exceptional audiologist in many facets:

• Diagnostic audiological testing for pediatrics and adults
• Newborn hearing screenings
• OAEs
• Vestibular testing (VNG)
• ABR testing (both sedated and natural sleep)
• Neurodiagnostic ABRs
• Hearing aid evaluations, fitting, follow up and troubleshooting with multiple hearing aid manufacturers
• Ear plug fitting and dispensing
• Osseointegrated device fitting and dispensing
• Establish patient rapport, gather a thorough case history, and counsel patients on all of the above

Externship Application Timeline

• Application Period: August 13-September 30
• Phone Interviews: August 13-October 11
• On-site Interviews: October 1-November 15

NOTE: This will be a multi-round interview process which may include an on-site interview.
