Job summary

Gleason Corporation in Westland, Michigan, is seeking a Production Manufacturing team member to support its Manufacturing and Assembly departments. The position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and enjoy working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Successful candidates will operate shop machinery, read blueprints, and assist with building mechanical equipment. A High School Diploma and a strong mechanical aptitude are required. A flexible benefits package is offered, including a 6% Company 401(k) match.

Position Summary

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, hands‑on team member to support our Manufacturing and Assembly departments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, building equipment, and operating machinery in a fast‑paced shop environment. The right candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to read prints, and a passion for working with their hands.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate shop machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Assist with building and assembling mechanical equipment and components
  • Support fitting, aligning, and installing parts during machine builds
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience
  • Ability to read and work from prints and technical drawings
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with shop equipment and machinery
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently or on a team
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing, assembly, or shop experience preferred
  • Mechanical or machine‑building/assembly experience is a plus
