Job summary

Gusto is hiring a Conversion Specialist to oversee onboarding for 401(k) plan conversions onto the Gusto platform. You will work closely with plan sponsors and administrators, ensuring accurate data, compliant transfers, and a smooth transition through the full conversion lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of total work experience with 1+ years in client-facing implementation or retirement plan administration.
• Proven ability to manage a large, active book of business with complex steps.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to data accuracy and reconciliation.
• Proficient communication across email, phone, and video with a client-first mindset.
• Familiarity with ERISA requirements, payroll systems, and plan transfers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated book of business of 401(k) plan conversions from signing through asset transfer and first contribution.
• Coordinate with plan sponsors and administrators to collect required documentation and ensure accurate data submission for asset transfer and recordkeeping.
• Serve as the primary contact for plan sponsors and administrators via email, phone, and video, including scheduling through Calendly.
• Guide employers through pre-ready task dashboards, preventing stalls and keeping plans on track for plan start date.
• Monitor performance against benchmarks such as activation time, readiness time, CSAT, and response times.
• Collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams including Sales and Legal to support asset transfers and complex plan changes.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline workflows, improve client communications, and increase efficiency for the book of business.
