Job summary

Imperial Beverage, a Michigan family-owned beverage distributor, seeks a full-time 3rd shift Warehouse Associate in Kalamazoo. You will load orders for the next day, verify accuracy, and build pallets for delivery trucks, with a focus on teamwork and initiative to learn multiple roles.

Expect night hours (8:00 pm–start of next day deliveries), overtime opportunities, and a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. Benefits include medical, 401(k), PTO, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Basic computer skills to use a warehouse device and software.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time to the warehouse and be ready to work.
• Verify orders and quantities before loading onto delivery trucks.
• Build pallets according to delivery schedule and truck weight.
• Label pallets with store name and route information.
• Follow loading schedule to ensure timely truck departures.
• Assist in moving delivery trucks and loading with forklift or pallet jack.

The minimum compensation for this role is listed below; pay will be determined based on experience:

$18.50

Eat. Sleep. Move Beer. Repeat: Our 3rd Shift Warehouse Associates work full-time, Monday-Thursday nights (That's right...a 3-day weekend!) from 8:00 pm until all orders for the next day have been loaded onto our delivery trucks. We take great pride in choosing Warehouse Associates who can handle the hard work, take initiative to train on multiple jobs so they can move up in the company, and work great with a team.

A Day in the Life

• Arrive to the warehouse on time and ready to work
• Collect pallet jack, scanner and iPod
• Verify picked orders are accurate by checking product type (name, dates, vintages, varietals) and quantity
  needed before loading on trucks
• Build pallets of product according to delivery schedule and truck weight
• Label products or wrapped pallets with appropriate identifying information such as store name and route
  number
• Follow loading schedule to ensure trucks leave on time for delivery

As you learn the picking process, you will have the opportunity to also learn the loading process:

• Organize product returns and empty kegs based on truck routes
• Determine which trucks should be loaded with which product
• Assist in moving delivery trucks into truck bays for loading
• Load wrapped skids on the trucks using a forklift or pallet jack

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• 18 years of age or older
• Basic computer skills to use an iPod and warehouse management software
• Flexibility to work with varying shift end times
• Attention to detail and a sense of urgency to meet goals with accuracy
• Ability to lift and carry an average of 30 pounds, repetitively, and move up to 165 pounds
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per day
