Phoenix Metals Company is seeking personnel for the Plant family in a role focusing on supervising or performing metals processing and distribution tasks. You will work with equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes, handling and inspecting materials to ensure orders are met.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, tagging, and documentation, while maintaining a safe, clean work area and complying with safety and quality standards.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience in warehousing.
• Experience with material handling equipment preferred.
• Certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment is required or obtainable.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, legible handwriting.
• Adequate manual dexterity and coordination required.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions for work.
• Basic measurement and math skills for converting lengths, weights and quantities.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Sound decision-making based on knowledge and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Safely load/unload material to/from supplier vehicles using material handling equipment such as a forklift, overhead crane or side loader.
• Examine material for obvious quality defects and verify conformance to orders using measuring devices.
• Tag material for proper identification and complete required documentation.
• Safely operate commercial trucks on Company property.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Report irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.

Job Summary

This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

Job Function

Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions. Responsible for safely loading/unloading material to/from supplier vehicles using material handling equipment such as a forklift, overhead crane or side loaders. Examines material for obvious quality defects and using measuring devices such as a tape measure to ensure conformance to purchase and sales orders. Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation. Safely operates commercial trucks on Company property. Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Resports any irregularities to supervisor for direction. Responsible for adhering/ ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Required Skills

• 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
