Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, seeks a Test Engineer- Manufacturing Quality for the 3rd shift in Louisville, KY. You will develop and optimize test methods, support new model introductions, and drive quality improvements across the factory.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, analyze test data, and ensure equipment reliability and safety. The role emphasizes leak/flow testing, electrical test knowledge, and continuous improvement in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent 5 years’ of demonstrated success in manufacturing quality disciplines
  • 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and supporting manufacturing test equipment
  • Experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement
  • Experience interpreting data to solve problems, demonstrated skills in statistical analysis
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills and report outs to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional program deliverables

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new and improved test methods to enhance capabilities and support new model introduction
  • Drive improvement projects through the CIB process and analyze test codes for leak, flow rates, wattage, resistance, Hipot, Ground bond
  • Lead test system improvements and organize project leaders around goals
  • Implement Poke-Yoke methods and standard work for operator training
  • Review daily assembly line test loops and coordinate repairs with Process Improvement and maintenance
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment and provide preventive maintenance
  • Act as first point of contact for test equipment issues on the production floor
  • Build partnerships with shop operations to quickly address inefficiencies
  • Maintain spare parts and troubleshooting procedures to minimize downtime
  • Own calibration and preventive maintenance of test equipment
  • Oversee spare parts and procedures for test equipment downtime prevention
  • Ensure safety and compliance in testing environments
