Job Summary

The Metal Punch Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC or manual punching machines to produce sheet metal components according to specifications. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate metal punch machines (CNC turret punch press or manual punch) to cut, form, and shape sheet metal parts.
  • Load, position, and secure metal sheets for punching operations.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inspect parts for accuracy and quality using precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and job instructions.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Record production output, downtime, and quality checks in logs or ERP system.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process improvements.
