Job summary

CKS Packaging, Inc. seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee production activities, coordinate workflow, and uphold quality and safety standards. You will lead and motivate production teams, optimize processes, and achieve targets.

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, attendance, safety investigations, performance reviews, and training direct reports to meet daily production goals. You will also manage equipment start/stop, material flow, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain manning head count as directed by management.
• Set up daily manning and scheduling per production schedule.
• Maintain attendance records for direct reports.
• Rectify punch errors and open payroll conditions for direct reports.
• Ensure personnel are in place at start of shift.
• Conduct safety investigations and document findings.
• Lead employee conferences and 90-day/annual reviews.
• Provide direction and training for all direct reports.
• Monitor performance and implement retraining or realignments as needed.
• Execute plant start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Ensure production equipment operates at optimum efficiency.
• Start/stop production equipment and support systems as needed.
• Adjust material system settings and monitor material flow.
• Periodic checks to Pressco and leak detector systems.
• Clean ink jet coders and complete daily shift reports.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and finished product flow.
• Complete all required reports and paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors.
• Perform line audits and manage ware handling/ documentation.
• Participate in inventory counting and cover duties when needed.

Job description

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production activities, coordinating workflow, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Your role involves leading and motivating production teams, optimizing production processes, and achieving production targets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain manning head count as directed by management
• Set up daily manning and scheduling as required by production schedule
• Maintain attendance records of all direct reports
• Responsible for correcting punch errors and open conditions for direct reports in the electronic payroll system
• Ensure that all personnel are assigned and in place at start of shift
• Conduct safety investigations and fill out proper documentation
• Conduct employee conferences for direct reports
• Conduct 90-day and annual evaluations for direct reports as needed and in a timely manner
• Provide direction and training for all direct reports
• Responsible for monitoring employee performance and making modifications as needed to meet production requirements. This could include retraining, performance improvement plans or moving the employee to a new position
• Perform plant start-up and shutdown procedures
• Ensure that production equipment is operating to optimum efficiency
• Start and stop production equipment as needed
• Start and stop support equipment as needed (i.e. grinders, compressors, chillers, etc.
• Adjust material system settings as required
• Monitor and maintain material levels. Troubleshoot and correct material flow issues (i.e. running out of material)
• Periodic checks to the Pressco and leak detector systems
• Clean ink jet coders as required
• Complete daily shift production reports
• Maintain Operation Excellence standards of housekeeping- sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment where necessary
• Monitor finished product flow from extruder to packaging equipment. Be able to clear jams and resume process flow as needed
• Monitor material levels
• Complete all required reports and paperwork
• Communicate effectively with the other shift supervisors
• Complete assigned daily line audits
• Manage completion of held ware and associated documentation
• Participate in monthly and annual inventory counting as assigned
• In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrate ability to properly startup and shutdown all production equipment
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and application of SPC, GMP, and OE procedures and documentation
• Demonstrate knowledge and operating ability of resin systems
• Monitor any change overs that have been scheduled for the shift
• Demonstrates the ability to make sound business decisions based on past occurrences and feedback from key team members
• Possess good people and communication skills
• Demonstrate experience and ability to provide direction and training for machine operators, Line chiefs, material handlers, utility and inspector packers
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully direct and lead a team
• Have advanced working knowledge of computer and touch screen operation
