Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a MIG welder to fabricate cabinets and racks in a warehouse environment. You will weld, assemble, and finish metal parts while following blueprints and customer specifications. Experience in GMAW/MIG, setup adjustments, and surface finishing is required.

You will also interpret drawings, prepare parts, ensure quality joints, and uphold 5S and safety standards in a fast-paced production area.

Qualifications

• 1+ years industrial welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols.
• Proficient in GMAW/MIG welding and metal properties.
• Able to understand verbal instructions and writebasic notes.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and MIG weld sheet metal and structural components using jigs.
• Read blueprints, engineering specs and weld symbols to plan procedures.
• Set up equipment: adjust voltage, amperage, wire feed and gas flow.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding or sanding welded parts.
• Inspect joints for porosity, cracks and meet strength/cosmetic standards.
• Maintain 5S standards, keep workspace clean and perform basic maintenance.

Job Description

MIG Welder for cabinets and racks fabricates, assembles, and welds metal components using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) techniques based on blueprints and customers specifications. Key duties include operating welding equipment, ensuring structural integrity, finishing surfaces (grinding/sanding), and adhering to safety protocols. Warehouse production environment, managing wire feed, gas flow, and voltage to meet quality and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Welding: Perform MIG welding on sheet metal and structural components, utilizing jigs and fixtures to maintain accuracy and minimize distortion.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and weld symbols to plan procedures.
• Equipment Setup: Adjust welder settings including voltage, amperage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow.
• Preparation & Finishing: Clean and prepare surfaces; grind or sand and finish welded parts.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed joints for defects (porosity, cracks) to meet strength and cosmetic standards.
• Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to 5S standards, maintain a clean workspace, and perform basic machine maintenance.

Job Requirements

• Experience: 1+ years of industrial welding experience.
• Skills: Ability to read blueprints, read / Write and understand verbal instructions proficiency in GMAW/MIG techniques, and knowledge of metal properties.
• Physical: Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50lbs, Push, Bend, Pull, Stand for long periods, and work in varied temperatures.

Education

High school diploma or GED; technical school training is preferred.
