Job summary

American Sugar Refining in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain machinery across conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment. The role includes the 3rd shift with potential Fridays–Sundays, plus overtime as needed.

Requires 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Education: high school diploma or GED; AA or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience required, preferably within a manufacturing facility.
• Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
• Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.
• Ability to work a flex schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine facility maintenance as assigned.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance regularly.
• PLC Troubleshooting.
• Observes and troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation and repairs/replaces parts.
• Sets up and operates metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Support startup process to ensure equipment operates correctly.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
• Report unsafe conditions or out-of-spec product or equipment.
