Job summary

Cole’s Quality Foods, Inc. in North Liberty, IA is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance staff, manage preventive maintenance programs, and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

The role requires coordinating with production schedules and monitoring spending to minimize waste. The candidate should have 3+ years in plant maintenance, 1 year in a supervisory role, and solid knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and safety codes.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years' experience in plant maintenance or similar position, preferably in the food industry.
• One (1) year experience leading a team of maintenance technicians, preferably in a production setting
• Basic understanding of electrical, heating/cooling systems, ventilation, welding, and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate maintenance personnel under their supervision as directed by maintenance manager and submit timely evaluation reports and training records.
• Be cognitive of maintenance spending in relations to operational need with the understanding of eliminating wasteful spending.
• Assign work to maintenance hourly personnel as needed to keep employee(s) involved in productive work during their shift.
• Understand and help with administration of preventive maintenance programs, follow-up on completed P.M. assignments and work orders to determine if work is properly performed and completed on schedule utilizing EAM and other communication methods or programs.
• Inspect, test, and adjust all physical plant systems, machinery, and equipment on a regular basis. Replaces, repairs, and calibrates assorted equipment on a routine basis.
• Inspect and maintain all fire & security system equipment, alarms, switches, and sensors. Maintain all records of daily checks, inspections, tests, and repairs.
• Be familiar with production schedule as needed to coordinate product changeovers, maintenance work scheduling, and manpower requirements.
• Have an awareness and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as applied to the physical plant and all aspects of the maintenance operation.
• Maintains and demands safe working conditions, counsel maintenance employees to insure high levels of safety awareness. Participate in all safety programs and training.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
• May be called outside of normal work hours to assist in emergency situations.

From time to time will be expected to deviate from regularly scheduled working hours as needed to perform maintenance, or installation of plant equipment.
