Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift Logistics Production Manager in Sanford, NC. You will collaborate with the team to maintain and improve processes and systems for manufacturing.

You will analyze current procedures, drive continuous improvement, and manage outbound shipments with a focus on safety and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on expertise in lean manufacturing, scheduling, and material flow.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve shop floor safety, eliminating unsafe processes.
• Determine priorities and sequences of jobs.
• Schedule and prioritize resources, adjusting staff to meet flow and customer requirements.
• Ensure production material is procured and distributed to meet schedules.
• Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste reduction.
• Determine overtime needs when resources are insufficient.
• Ensure preventive maintenance is performed as scheduled.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma projects and internal certifications.
• Develop and deploy standard work for each area.
• Drive root cause corrective actions and continuous improvements.
• Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including overseas shipments documentation.

Caterpillar has an opening for a 3rd shift Logistics Production Manager who will collaborate with the team and maintaining and improving processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements

Specifically in this role you can expect to:

• Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
• Determines priorities and sequences jobs
• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements
• Ensures production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
• Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
• Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient.
• Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
• Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others
• Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
• Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement
• Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including processing, systems, and required documentation for overseas shipments

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00
