Iowa Department of Transportation in Grimes is seeking a 3rd shift Highway Technician Associate. The role supports road safety with roadside work, including patching roadways and maintaining assets, on a Sunday to Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM schedule. Base pay starts at $24.48/hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.
Eligibility requires a CDL permit, with endorsements to be obtained within 5 months of hire. Benefits include health, dental, retirement IPERS, and paid time off.

Grimes Maintenance Garage - Within five (5) months, employees are required to reside within 45 minutes driving time, during normal conditions, from the assigned work location.
10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday through Friday. Hours may vary, and the position is subject to be on call 24 hours a day during emergencies and/or weather conditions. Some overnight travel may be required.
