Job summary

Hanover Foods Corporation is seeking 3rd Shift Food Inspectors for our Centre Hall, PA facility. The role involves learning and performing all aspects of Production/Entrée inspecting and packaging operations and removing defects and foreign materials from products to achieve minimal waste.

Starting wage is $17 per hour, with a $0.75 shift differential for the 11pm–7am shift. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, prescription drug, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Constructing boxes and/or cartons and placing liners as required.
• Placing product into boxes and/or cartons.
• Weighing product prior to closing and stacking.
• Inspecting cartons/boxes for proper sealing and correct day code.
• Placing boxes/cartons on pallets and moving them as required.
• Inspecting and removing defects and foreign materials from product.
• Maintaining clean work areas following housekeeping practices.
• Complying with GMP, HACCP, food safety and quality policies.
• Following safety procedures and wearing protective clothing as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisors.

Food Inspectors are responsible for learning and performing all aspects of Production/Entrée inspecting and packaging operations and removing all defects and foreign materials from products, achieving minimal waste.

The normal wage for this entry level position is $17 per hour, but working the 3rd shift hours of 11pm - 7am adds an additional $0.75 Shift Differential per hour. Hanover Foods Corporation also offers a comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, prescription drug, and 401(k).

Duties

• Constructing boxes and/or cartons and placing appropriate liner inside, if required.
• Placing product into boxes and/or cartons.
• Weighing product prior to closing and stacking.
• Inspecting cartons/boxes to ensure they are properly sealed and have the correct day code affixed.
• Placing boxes/cartons on pallets.
• Moving boxes and pallets to designated areas when required.
• Inspecting and removing all defects and foreign materials from product as well as reporting specific findings to the Supervisor and/or Lead on duty.
• Keeping work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
• Responsible for following food safety, legality, quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as: GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
• Adhering to common safety practices and procedures, including the wearing of protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Adhering to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Lead.
