Job summary

Randstad USA is hiring a Chemical Process Operator in Fort Mill, SC. You\'ll operate batch chemical processing equipment, charge raw materials, monitor reactions, and safely package finished products.

This full-time position runs on a 3rd shift (8:00 PM–8:00 AM) with a 2-2-3 schedule and every other weekend off. Candidates should have at least 2 years of chemical manufacturing experience and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 2 years chemical manufacturing/operation experience required.
• Ability to work a 12-hour 3rd shift (8 PM - 8 AM) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
• Attention to detail, safety focus, and equipment handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Read batch sheets accurately.
• Weigh, charge, and transfer chemicals using pumps and hoses.
• Safely operate reactors, mix tanks, centrifuges, filters, dryers, and grinders.
• Sample products, monitor reactions, and adjust conditions.
• Complete operating logs and maintain in-process inventory.
• Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Help train new operators and maintain supply levels.
• Complete operating records accurately.

Chemical Process Operator

Location: Fort Mill, SC

Shift: 3rd Shift (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM) | 2-2-3 Schedule (Every other weekend off)

About the Role We are hiring an experienced Chemical Process Operator in Fort Mill, SC. You will operate batch chemical processing equipment, charge raw materials, monitor reactions, and package finished products safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and follow batch sheets accurately.
• Weigh, charge, and transfer liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, hoses, and valves.
• Safely operate reactors, mix tanks, centrifuges, filters, dryers, and grinders.
• Sample products, monitor reactions, interpret lab results, and adjust conditions.
• Complete operating logs and maintain in-process inventory.
• Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Help train new operators and maintain supply levels.
• Follows instructions on batch sheets and operating instructions.
• Trains new operators.
• Completes operating records accurately.
• Maintains inventory of in-process materials, including incomplete batches and liquors.
• Inventories manufacturing supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Completes other tasks as assigned by management.
• Handles hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Weighs out quantities of liquid and solid chemicals.
• Adds chemicals to reactors, mix tanks, or other equipment.
• Monitors reactions. Samples vessel contents and adjusts conditions based on test results.
• Transfers chemicals between vessels. Adjusts valve positions, uses pumps and chemical hoses.
• Operates centrifuges, filters and other separation devices.
• Loads dryers, flakers, grinders and other solids handling equipment.
• Samples product, records laboratory results and communicates any off-spec results.
• Packages material into the desired packaging types. Labels product accurately..

Requirements

• Prior chemical manufacturing/operation experience required.
• Ability to work a 12-hour 3rd shift (8 PM - 8 AM) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
• Attention to detail, safety focus, and equipment handling skills.

The essential functions of this role include

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 12 hours at one time
