Actalent is seeking a 3rd Shift Bakery Mixing Lead in Mount Pleasant, WI to supervise the 3rd shift mixing operations in a high-volume bakery production setting. You will oversee production lines, plan batches, and train staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs, GMPs, and food safety standards on a Sunday–Friday 11:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m. role with holiday flexibility.

You will lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with QA and sanitation to maintain safety and quality across operations.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of lead or supervisory experience within a food manufacturing facility.
  • Experience overseeing the operation of production lines in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Experience mixing batches in a bakery, blending, or food production setting.
  • Experience training employees in production and quality roles.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience following and enforcing SOPs and GMPs.

Job Title: 3rd Shift Bakery Mixing Lead
Job Description

This role leads the 3rd shift mixing operations in a high-volume bakery production environment. You oversee a team on the production line, ensure batches are mixed accurately and on time, and maintain strict adherence to quality, food safety, and safety standards. The schedule runs Sunday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with some flexibility and additional hours required based on production needs, especially during the busy holiday season. You play a key role in training team members, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a culture where leadership works alongside the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Use Microsoft programs to track production data, document processes, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and guidance to production team members on the 3rd shift.
  • Support sanitation efforts by coordinating with the sanitation team on equipment teardown, cleaning, and reassembly requirements.
  • Model a hands‑on leadership style by working alongside the production team as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, appreciative culture by recognizing employee efforts and fostering teamwork.
Essential Skills
  • 2–3 years of lead or supervisory experience within a food manufacturing facility.
  • Experience overseeing the operation of production lines in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Experience mixing batches in a bakery, blending, or food production setting.

  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft programs for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control practices in food production.
  • Familiarity with USDA and FDA requirements in a food manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards related to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift (Sunday–Friday, 11:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m.) with flexibility for additional hours when required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • HACCP experience and/or certification is a plus.
  • SQF experience and/or certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in a bakery environment with large mixers, ovens, and multiple production lines.
  • Experience in production management within a food manufacturing facility.
  • Strong supervision skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight.
  • Ability to support and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑growing company with expansion plans.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across production, quality, and sanitation teams.
Work Environment

The role is based in a food manufacturing facility with multiple production lines, each producing different bakery products based on daily order demands. The environment includes large mixers, ovens, and other bakery equipment. Many pieces of machinery must be taken apart and hand washed, creating unique challenges and close coordination with the sanitation team. The position is on 3rd shift, Sunday through Friday, from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with additional hours at times to meet production needs, particularly during the busy holiday season. The culture emphasizes a hands‑on leadership approach, where owners and leaders work on the lines and do not ask anyone to perform tasks they would not do themselves. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $52000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
