Job summary

Nemco Food Equipment, LTD. in Kentucky is seeking an assembler to join our production team. This role requires reading blueprints, aligning components, using hand tools and power tools, and performing quality checks to assemble complex machines.

You will support Lean initiatives, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and work within a small team. Training lasts about 3 weeks before moving to the 3rd shift, Sunday night through Friday morning.

The job of an Assembler requires a wide range of knowledge and skills across many product lines. Skilled assemblers putting together complex machines read detailed schematics and blueprints that show how to assemble the machine. After determining how parts should connect, they use hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together. Once the parts are properly aligned, they connect them with bolts and screws, or other means to mate the pieces together

Relevant Work Experience:

Experience as an assembler in a production environment preferred. Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.

Work Schedule:

• This is a 3rd shift position. You will start on 1st shift and after an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Training is expected to last about 3 weeks, at which time you will move to 3rd shift.


• Sunday night - Friday morning (9:00pm - 5:00am; 8-hour shift 20 minute paid lunch) Subject to Change


• Occasional overtime is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.; occasionally team lifting items weighing up to 100 lbs.
Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture, tubs, carts, or pallets.
Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.

Gripping: Frequent gripping of varying sizes of parts

*Employees working on an industrial assembly line must have exceptional hand-eye coordination, which is the ability to visually control the hands at a rapid or constant rate. They typically perform the same task repeatedly, using their hands and power tools to complete the task.
