Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain intern/probationary cert.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary mathematics instruction and the TEKS.
• Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to use student data and assessments to plan effective instruction.
• Commitment to maintaining high expectations for every student.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with the TEKS.
• Develop students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, computation, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical reasoning.
• Prepare students to demonstrate mastery of grade-level standards and assessments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including emergent bilingual, special education, and gifted students.
• Use assessments and student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction.
• Provide small-group instruction, intervention, and enrichment based on student needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, attendance, and interventions.
• Establish clear classroom expectations and maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic needs.
• Collaborate with grade-level teachers, instructional leaders, interventionists, and special education staff.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, parent conferences, school events, and required training.
• Support the mission, goals, policies, and instructional expectations of Promesa Academy Charter School.
