Job summary

The Orchard Ltd is seeking a Staff LPN to provide skilled nursing care under the supervision of the Director of Nurses. You will maintain resident knowledge from biosketches, participate in care plan meetings, and verify medications and physician orders.

The role requires administering medications per orders, clarifying orders as needed, and ensuring all medication documentation is current. You will stock and secure the medication room and follow disposal policies while communicating

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in state of practice.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses
• Maintain knowledge of each resident from his/her biosketch and family interview
• Participate in Resident care plan meetings
• Accept & verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy
• Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments
• Administer medications per physician's order
• Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or his/her designee
• Insure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, etc.
• Insure medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over-the-counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician
• Insure medication room is secured at all times
• Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications
• Communicate, as needed, with resident family members and other legal representatives in a courteous, professional manner
• Supervises and gives direction to aides' 'Work Remotely
