Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a high-performing National Account Manager to drive strategic growth by managing key national accounts and achieving sales and gross margin goals. You will identify new opportunities and work primarily with 3PL accounts to maximize revenue while maintaining competitive advantage.

The role requires strong prospecting, contract negotiation, and cross-border travel across the Western United States and Canada.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales or relevant industry.
  • 3PL experience strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of cognitive and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to gain a strong understanding of CCFS markets, contracts, pricing publications, and competitors.
  • CCFS infrastructure and operating characteristics knowledge.
  • Interline partner systems familiarity and procedures.
  • Understanding of transportation industry behavior and CCFS pricing mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Cold call outreach and customer prospecting/follow up daily.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions, rate requests, sales leads, etc.
  • Deliver presentations with research and detailed work to emphasize features and related benefits.
  • Travel up to 12 days a month across assigned territories in Canada and the Western U.S. to high revenue accounts.
  • Negotiate major contracts and assemble tender packages with rate proposals and company information.
  • Keep up to date on changes with customers and the competition.
  • Suggest packaging improvements to reduce claims and improve shipping efficiency.
  • Recommend innovative cost-saving and revenue-improving changes for the company.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a high-performing National Account Manager to drive our strategic growth by managing key national accounts, achieving ambitious sales and gross margin goals, and identifying new business opportunities. This role plays a crucial part in helping us meet acquisition and revenue targets while maintaining our competitive edge and fostering innovation. This position will be working with 3PL accounts primarily.

Principal Responsibilities –75%
  • Cold call outreach and customer prospecting/follow up through phone, email, messaging services on a daily basis.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions, rate requests, sales leads etc. - 10%
  • Doingpresentationswhich involvesresearch and detailed work to emphasize features and related benefits. - 25%
  • Travels (up to 12 days a month) throughout assigned territories within Canada and the Western United States and calls on high volume, high revenue accounts ($250,000 per year in gross revenues and greater), as assigned, to maintain and increase business, keep them informed of new services and changes within the company. - 25%
  • Negotiate major contracts which involve detailed work and research. Put together tender packages including rate proposals, company related information, or equipment and financials. -25%
  • Keep up to date on any changes happening with our customers and the competition.
  • Suggest to companies how they can improve the shippingie. Packaging improvements to reduce claims.
  • Recommend innovative solutions and changes that will reduce costs, save time, improve revenues, make the company more efficient, etc.
  • Responsible for approximately $10-15 million gross revenue per year (approximately 100-150 accounts)Added in main responsibilities
Customer Relations and Business Development –25%
  • Respond to all customer concerns, complaints and requests. – 15%
  • Ensuring the right information is gathered from the customer regarding density, packaging, volumes, etc. – 10%
  • This position must keep up to date on any changes happening with our customers and the competition in order to maintain and increase business, keep them informed of new services and changes within the company.
Minimum Requirements
