Job summary

Lamp Rynearson, Inc. is seeking a Geospatial 3D Technician to support our growing 3D Practice in Omaha.

This role processes and manages data from LiDAR, mobile mapping, drones, survey equipment, and other geospatial technologies, while supporting GIS integration and downstream project use. Based in an employee-owned environment, you will work on diverse projects across site development, infrastructure, and reality capture, with opportunities to expand skills across multiple disciplines and

  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and contribute to workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage point-cloud data from terrestrial, drone, and mobile mapping systems
  • Process aerial photogrammetry datasets and generate deliverable products
  • Support reality-capture workflows using LiDAR, imagery, and survey data
  • Assist with GIS data integration, mapping, and geospatial analysis
  • Support drone operations, data management, and workflow development
  • Create digital terrain models, surfaces, and 3D deliverables
  • Assist with Civil 3D modeling and engineering support tasks
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and software solutions
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, GIS professionals, architects, and other design professionals
  • Help refine standards, workflows, and best practices for the expanding 3D Practice
  • Assist with the development of interactive visualizations and augmented, virtual, or extended-reality experiences

Overview
Summary

Lamp Rynearson is seeking a Geospatial 3D Technician to support our growing 3D Practice in Omaha. This survey- and geomatics-focused position processes and manages data collected with LiDAR, mobile mapping systems, drones, survey equipment, and other advanced geospatial technologies, while supporting GIS integration and downstream project use.

As part of a 100% employee-owned company, you will work on projects spanning site development, mining and quarry operations, utility corridors, infrastructure, and reality capture. The role offers opportunities to develop skills across multiple disciplines and technologies while helping shape the future of geospatial services at Lamp Rynearson.

What You’ll Do
  • Process and manage point-cloud data from terrestrial, drone, and mobile mapping systems
  • Process aerial photogrammetry datasets and generate deliverable products

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience or education in surveying, geomatics, GIS, photogrammetry, or a related field
  • Interest in emerging geospatial technologies and innovation
  • Ability to learn new software and workflows quickly, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to follow established procedures and contribute to workflow improvements
A Plus If You Have
  • Three or more years of related professional experience
  • Experience working with point clouds, LiDAR, or photogrammetry data
  • Experience with survey field equipment and geospatial data collection
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification, or willingness to obtain it
  • Familiarity with GIS platforms and spatial data management
  • Exposure to Civil 3D or similar modeling software
  • Experience or interest in interactive visualization, augmented reality, virtual reality, or extended reality
