Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a 3D and Advanced Imaging Technologist for CT to operate imaging workstations, manage image transfers, and assist radiologists in 3D post-processing to support accurate diagnoses.

The role involves collaboration with radiologists and technologists, learning systems like Syngovia, TeraRecon and Sectra PACS, and contributing to protocol development and efficient patient care. Shift details include Sun/Wed/Thu 7am-7:30pm with on-call coverage.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required.
  • AHA CPR within 6 months of hire.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved two-year school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and must be MRI or CT board certified with ARRT with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate 3D imaging workstations and applications; facilitate transfer of imaging data and draft reports for radiologist.
  • Assist in instruction of radiologists and technologists in 3D lab applications.
  • Ensure networked transfer of images to PACS and workstations; place measurements into draft report.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure proper 3D imaging and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT to address workflow and protocol issues.
  • Prepare diagnostic images for visualization and quantification; assist with measurements.
  • Learn and use systems like Syngovia, TeraRecon, Suiteheart, Nordic Ice, Dynacad, Sectra PACS.

The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a 3D and Advanced Imaging Technologist for CT!

Shift Details

Shift: Sun/Wed/Thurs 7am-730pm

Call Required: Once every 6 weeks and once over 6 weekends.

Holidays: 2-3 required per year.

Responsibilities
  • Operate all 3D imaging workstations and applications, facilitate transfer of imaging data and manipulate diagnostic images for the radiologist and clinical staff.
  • Assist in the instruction of radiologists and technologists in 3D lab applications.
  • Ensure networked transfer of images to appropriate workstations and PACS systems, and place measurements and additional information into a draft report for the radiologist.
  • Work alongside radiologists to enhance patient care and ensure proper diagnostic 3D imaging is performed and documented.
  • Collude with IT to assure workflow and protocols are unified and address IT workflow related issues.
  • Responsible for holiday and on-call coverage.
  • Prepare diagnostic images for visualization and quantification, and assist with quantitative measurements when indicated.
  • Operate 3D imaging workstations and software for the preparation of imaging data.
  • Select, extract, reformat, and de-identify images as needed.
  • Ensure networked transfer of images to appropriate workstations and PACS systems.
  • Work under the supervision of the radiologist to create draft reports with all 3D imaging and/or measurements.
  • Collaborate with radiologic technologists in CT and MRI to ensure appropriate scanning protocols for 3D imaging.
  • Learn additional computer systems such as Syngovia, TeraRecon, Suiteheart, Nordic Ice, Dynacad and Sectra PACS to manipulate digital medical images for clinical visualization and analysis.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure post-processed images have maximal clinical value.
  • Contribute to the design of new data acquisition protocols for 3D purpose when appropriate.
  • Identify abnormal anatomy and pathology and create appropriate 3D visualization.
  • Place post-processing orders for radiologist when needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of advanced neuro and cardiovascular protocols and anatomy.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and committees to continually develop and change 3D protocols as scanning protocols change and application technology advances.
  • Field all related phone calls and inquiries.
  • Coordinate research 3D post-processing when needed.
  • May rotate to clinical floor when applicable.
  • Work with different workstations depending on assignment.
Credentials
  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • AHA CPR within 6 months of hire
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved two-year school of Radiologic Technology with certification by ARRT.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy & must be MRI or CT board certified with ARRT with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
