Description

We have an opening for a day shift Cutting/Relish Forklift Operator for the Goldsboro Location.

Summary

Safely operates forklift to transport raw materials, product, and supplies in the cutting department.

Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Complete Pre-Operational Checklist daily before operating the lift. Report any forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
2. Operate forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching for pedestrians and other vehicles.
3. Transport raw materials or supplies safely, maintaining proper volume in the wet hopper.
4. Dumps product into the wet hopper, checks for foreign objects, and removes them as needed.
5. When moving cardboard boxes, hook the safety chain on the dumper and remove it after dumping.
6. Document supplier information for traceability.
7. Set up washer, vibrator, and hopper.
8. Ensure machinery in the work area is functioning properly and report issues.
9. Fill wet hoppers with water or brine at shift start and regulate product flow.
10. Verify product quality and notify supervisor of any issues.
11. Follow safety rules and company policies.

Other Duties

1. Unstop pumps at the wet hopper.
2. Operate small weigh scales to weigh used product and record weights.
3. Operate motorized pallet jack as needed.
4. Inspect and clean brush washer.
5. Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
6. Participate in training, meetings, and team activities.
7. Follow instructions from packing schedule or supervisor and perform other tasks as directed.

Primarily outside with exposure to temperature variations, intermittent wet conditions, grease, and required protective gear such as head cover, beard cover, and gloves.
