Family Support Services of Amarillo is seeking a Full-Time Nutrition and Life Skills Advocate to support survivors at our safe house/shelter. You will ensure access to healthy food and provide nutrition guidance aligned with trauma-informed care.

You will facilitate life skills and support groups, collaborate with case management, and help clients achieve healing, wellness, and independence in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing nutrition guidance to survivors is desirable.
• Ability to facilitate small and large groups with sensitivity to trauma.
• Strong communication and empathetic listening skills.

• Assists survivors in understanding the intersection of trauma and nutrition, as well as facilitation of support groups or life skill building in this domain
• Ensure food safety standards are followed and in compliance
• Responsible for food preparation.
