General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking a 2nd Shift Wire Harness Assembler in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on assembling raw parts and sub-assemblies per detailed work instructions, performing wire routing, soldering, and inspections to ensure quality.

The position requires precise, reliable work with hand tools, soldering, and interpretation of drawings. OT may be required; the work schedule is Monday-Thursday with some Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting, wire harness assembly experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to be precise and work accurately, as small errors can cause major issues.
• Electronic and Mechanical Assembly experience, including hand tools and soldering iron.
• Excellent vision and good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, and written work instructions, plus basic math and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble raw parts and sub-assemblies per standard work instructions.
• Perform complex electronic assembly, soldering and inspections.
• Operate crimp presses, sonic welder, and wire strippers.
• Route, wire, and assemble components using layout boards.
• Inspect in-process and finished assemblies for quality.
