Job summary

Veritas Steel Llc is seeking 2nd Shift and Weekend General Labor in Palatka, FL. This full-time manual labor role involves grinding, drilling, shop clean-up, and other tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.

Weekend shifts run Fri-Sun 5AM-5PM (36-hour week paid for 40 hours); Night Shift is 53 hours weekly (Mon-Thu 5PM-5AM, Fri 5PM-Midnight). Double time after 50 hours. Must meet safety standards and contribute to a safe, productive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Able to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Able to read metric tapes.
• Able to adapt to work priorities, communicate well, meet deadlines and schedules, and work as part of a team.
• Welding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operations.
• Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
• Coordinate with shop supervisor and other personnel for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently, on time, and with no defects.
• Assist others as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
• Adhere to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and surrounding coworkers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
