Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers is hiring for a Warehouse Selector in Houston, TX. You will pick, gather and organize products and prepare orders for delivery to local customers in a frozen/cold environment.

The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Sunday through Friday with Saturdays off, at 3100 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77021. Pay starts at $18 per hour with a cooler/freezer premium of $1.50 and a $1.00 shift differential (4:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m.), plus incentive and attendance pay as eligible.

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Shift: 2nd Shift (United States of America).

Responsibilities

• Picking items using order sheets or audio headset.
• Stacking items on pallets for wrapping and loading at bay doors.
• Ensuring accuracy to orders while following safety standards.
• Operating a double walkie-rider or electric pallet jack to move cases.
• Applying selection labels and using proper wrapping techniques.
• Reporting differences in quantity or description to Supervisor.

Position Overview

As a Warehouse Selector, you’ll pick, gather & organize product and prepare orders for delivery to local customers.

Shift: 2nd Shift
Environment: Frozen & Perishable facility only (cold environment)
Schedule: Sunday through Friday (facility closed on Saturdays)

Pay: $18 per hour + $1.50 (cooler/freezer premium) + $1.00 shift differential (4:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m.) + Incentive and Attendance Pay (once you qualify). Full-time, 2nd shift, 3:00 p.m. until completion, 5 days on/2 days off. Location: 3100 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77021.

You will contribute by:

• Picking various items using order sheets or an audio headset.
• Stacking items on a pallet for wrapping and loading at the bay doors.
• Ensuring accuracy to orders while adhering to safety standards.
• Operating a double walkie‑rider or electric pallet jack to remove cases from storage rack, place on pallet, and apply selection labels to appropriate cases.
• Utilizing proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product and prevent damage.
• Informing Supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or description.
• Performing equipment inspections & completing appropriate form.
• Frequent safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels.
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.

Physical Demands

• Continually standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift.
• Walking between 6-12 miles per day on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequent lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more.
• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead.
• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height.
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools.
