Job summary

McNeilus Steel, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Truck Loading Specialist for the Dodge Center, MN area. The role involves moving freight, stock, and materials between storage, production areas, and delivery vehicles.

You will operate a forklift and overhead crane as needed, with a Sunday-Thursday 5pm-1:30am schedule and overtime as required. Responsibilities include packing, tagging, and loading shipments, counting units, and coordinating with dispatch to resolve discrepancies while adhering to OSHA

Qualifications

• Must read and understand material specifications on order tickets.
• Knowledge of steel products preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work well independently and in a team.
• Read and decipher measurements using a tape measure.
• Must read, write and communicate in fluent English.
• Ability to perform general mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

• Band and tag material with identification information.
• Receives orders and pulls inventory to prepare shipments.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift safely and skillfully.
• Package material for delivery.
• Load and secure material onto outgoing carriers with proper weight distribution.
• Assist with unloading/loading for company and non-company carriers.
• May drive semi and straight truck to loading areas.
• Count, weigh, and record units to match shipping invoices.
• Communicate with dispatch to adjust orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Follow OSHA safety rules and health policies at all times.
• Use safety devices, PPE as directed.

2nd Shift Truck Loading Specialist | Dodge Center, MN

McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our company as a Truck Loading Specialist. Evening schedule is Sunday-Thursday 5pm-1:30am, with OT as needed, with the shift concluding when all work is completed.

The majority of the responsibilities include moving freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, staging areas, and delivery vehicles. Will operate forklift, as well as overhead cranes as needed.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Bands and tags material with the appropriate identification information
• Receives printed customer orders and pulls inventory to prepare orders for accurate shipment
• Must operate overhead crane and forklift skillfully and safely
• Package material for delivery
• Loads and secures material onto out-going carriers with proper weight distribution and proper delivery order
• Assists with unloading/loading of material for company and non-company carriers
• May drive semi and straight truck vehicles into specific loading areas to load customer-ordered material
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of material to compare numbers with shipping invoice
• Communicates with dispatch to adjust customer orders to inventory availability and resolve discrepancies in shipping invoices
• Performs other duties as instructed and assigned
• Learn, understand, and comply with OSHA requirements, company safety rules, and health policies at all times, working according to good safety practices as posted, instructed, and discussed
• Use all safety devices, equipment, and PPE as directed and provided for protection
