Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing, a leading tooling and die employer in Richmond, KY, is seeking an experienced Tool & Die technician for the 2nd shift, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM. You will set up and operate lathes, mills, and grinders and ensure parts meet blueprints and specifications.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of tool and die experience, an apprenticeship or journeyman status, and familiarity with Mastercam/SolidWorks. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Journeyman or completed apprenticeship (preferred).
• Must have minimum 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently for job duties.
• Mastercam and SolidWorks experience (preferred).
• Intermediate machining and metalworking experience.
• Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude (preferred).
• Must be able to obtain a hi-lo license.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications such as blueprints to determine materials and machines to use.
• Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence.
• Sets up and operates lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder.
• Verifies dimensions and conformance of machined parts.
• Heat treats tools or parts.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues to achieve quality parts.
• Follow all safety precautions and company policies.
