Job summary

Polymershapes in Reno, NV is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor to lead production across multiple departments. You will direct daily activities, schedule staff, and ensure quality and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidate has hands-on CNC machining experience, strong leadership, and commitment to safety. You will help maintain morale, improve processes, and support customer care with unmatched quality and service.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of machining manufacturing experience and 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to lead a team of up to 15 with strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T and operate CNC equipment.
  • Must pass background and drug screening; must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and assign production staff to meet daily goals.
  • Identify delays and plan alternatives to keep workflow on track.
  • Enforce quality standards and safety procedures (OSHA, PPE).
  • Perform machine operations and fabricate as needed.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving and inventory counts.
  • Lead by example and drive continuous improvement.

About the role:

The 2nd Shift Supervisor requires a determined individual interested in helping our business grow by promoting a culture of teamwork, dedication and superior customer care. You will be responsible for supporting the management with directing the daily activities of multiple production departments in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of hands‑on CNC machining experience and proven leadership skills to maintain high morale, quality standards, and continuous workflow.

What you’ll do:
  • Complete production requirements by scheduling and assigning employees where appropriate
  • Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plan for alternative actions
  • Ensure all procedures are in place and activities align with company goals and objectives
  • Lead by example with a positive "can do" attitude that motivates others in the location
  • Enforce quality standards and procedures
  • Proactively identify and prevent quality issues from occurring
  • Commit to ongoing improvement in the workplace by proactively seeking feedback and monitoring operational processes
  • Perform inventory counts
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of materials
  • Perform machine operations and fabrication
  • Has certification or willingness to become certified in operating a forklift
  • Enforce basic housekeeping standards and Company-implemented safe operating procedures (OSHA, PPE, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer satisfaction by providing unmatched quality & service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:
  • 5+ years of machining manufacturing experience, 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to lead a team up to 15 with strong conflict‑resolution skills, excellent communication, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift with limited support from management
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T, use precision measuring tools and adjust CNC machines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • High level of honesty and integrity
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must pass the drug test as part of the selection process
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
  • (Preferred) – High School Diploma or GED
