Location: 10909 Franklin Ave, Franklin Park, Illinois 60131-1409.
Responsibilities
- Implement work schedules and maximize manpower and materials utilization, assign work to hourly union employees.
- Process parts and/or components to meet production schedule, advising the Production Manager of difficulties.
- Monitor performance of assigned personnel, complete employee performance reviews and take corrective action as necessary.
- Report discrepancies in specifications, methods, standards, etc., to the Production Manager.
- Ensure product quality meets specified standards and assigned personnel perform inspections per standard procedures.
- Report and investigate all incidents in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of assigned personnel’s time and production via various production reports.
- Conduct shift start‑up meetings at the beginning of each shift and monthly safety meetings with personnel.
- Administer company policies in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions in assigned areas.
- Train new and temporary employees on department activities and safety procedures.
- Serve as a champion for various teams/projects to promote continuous improvement.
- Be available to work various shift hours and Saturdays as production demands.
- Actively participate in monthly Safety Leadership Team meetings.
- Supervise 30-40 direct reports.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of leadership experience in an industrial environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information one‑on‑one and in front of an audience.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives.
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Three years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and state/federal labor standards.
- Experience utilizing an automated time and attendance tracking system.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Pay Range
$69,900 - $87,400
Work Environment and Physical Efforts
The role involves both office and production floor settings. Responsibilities include walking for extended periods, interacting via phone and meetings, using hands for handling files and equipment, and occasional lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. Ergonomic safeguards such as proper monitor height and keyboard positioning should be utilized. The environment is fast‑paced and demanding, with occasional travel required.
