Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation in Hobart, IN is seeking a 2nd shift Sub-Assembler to perform sub-assembly and packaging per procedures and drawings.

The role requires reading blueprints and a tape measure, basic math, and use of hand and power tools; teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety rules are essential. Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm; full-time with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience
• Ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings and blueprints
• Basic computer knowledge
• Basic mathematical knowledge, including decimal and fractional equations
• Knowledge of standard and decimal measurements, hand tools, and power tools
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Good verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Responsibilities

• Performing sub-assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions

• Inspecting, operating, and testing completed assemblies and finished product to verify function, quality, and conformance to specifications
• Cleaning and lubricating parts and assemblies
• Maintaining personal tool inventory
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area based on quality goals
• Using a computer to record assembly status
• Following safety instructions and rules
• Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed

Completes Sub‑Assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures and engineering and quality specifications.

• Performing sub-assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions

ADA Requirements:

• Medium work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
