Job summary

Piedmont Metals in Burlington, NC is seeking full-time Structural Welders & Fabricators for the 2nd shift. You will read blueprints and specifications, perform Flux Core welding (FCAW), and ensure welds meet AWS D1.1 standards.

Ideal candidates have structural welding experience, can interpret engineering drawings, and are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs; AWS D1.1 certification is preferred, with a test if not certified within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics.
• Familiarity with welding procedures and safety standards.
• AWS D1.1 certification preferred; if not certified, pass AWS D1.1 test within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow shop drawings and blueprints to complete welds to required specifications.
• Perform Flux Core welding (FCAW) in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards.
• Calculate and verify material measurements to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure work meets structural requirements.
• Use appropriate welding tools, equipment, and techniques safely and efficiently.
