Job summary

Great Northern is seeking a 2nd Shift Slitter Operator in Jacksonville, FL to set up and run the slitter, cut paper to size, and produce high-quality packaging products.

You will operate the slitting line, monitor for defects, and maintain safe, efficient operations while meeting customer specifications. The role offers a starting pay of $20.00–$22.00 per hour and a 3:00pm–11:00pm schedule Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a paper slitter or converting equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to read and follow customer specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the slitter machine to cut material into specified widths.
• Space blades and adjust settings to ensure accurate cuts and tension.
• Mount material on supports, thread through guides, and monitor for defects.
• Disengage winding shaft and remove finished rolls as needed.
• Assist in continuous improvement and communicate efficiency opportunities.
