Job summary

JobTarget, LLC is hiring a Warehouse Worker in Manchester, CT to support shipping operations. You will load and unload trucks, operate a forklift, and ensure items are moved to the correct trucks for delivery. Reading packing slips and barcode data, you will verify accuracy and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

You will work 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM with a competitive hourly rate and eligibility for benefits, including health coverage and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Operate forklift and barcode reader safely and efficiently.
• Basic computer and math skills for locating and batching shipments.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and separate transfers onto correct trucks.

Position Purpose

Provide excellent internal and external customer service through following proper shipping procedures, effective communication and following safety practices.

Essential Functions

• Load and unload trucks.
• Separate transfers and load them onto respective trucks.
• Determine best shipping method for products according to company policy.
• Locate transfers to complete orders and place them on the corresponding trucks.
• Ensure that products and orders are placed on the correct trucks for delivery.
• Use basic computer and math skills to determine shipping locations and quantities.
• Manage time in order to complete work load for the day.
• Move and lift heavy objects from one location to another .
• Read and decipher packing slips, computer screens and barcode readers.
• Practice team work in order to best service internal and external customers.
• Assist warehouse personnel when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
• Operate fork trucks and/or platform lifts in order to safely and effectively move product within the warehouse.
• Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, etc.
• Remain up-to-date on all safety practices and standards.
• Perform other responsibilities as directed.

Schedule: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Requirements

Experience, Education & Skills

• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to operate motor vehicle, forklift, barcode reader, currently used hardware and software.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• Very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• The associate is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
• The associate is subject to warehouse duties with safety practices and standards.
• Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
