Job summary

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Scientist to perform molecular, cell biology and virology analyses under established protocols. The role includes reviewing raw data for acceptability and assisting in the setup and validation of new analytical methods.

The ideal candidate has a biology-related degree or equivalent experience, PCR exposure, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Full-time hours include evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular or cell biology, or related field.
• Two years of related industry experience equals one year of college credit.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of analyses in the molecular, cell biology, and virology test areas.
• Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability and validate new analytical processes used by the department.
• Learn and apply molecular biology techniques and work with the team to meet project timelines.

Job Description

The Scientist position is an intermediate-level professional position involved in somewhat complex day-to-day activities in a laboratory setting under prescribed processes (protocols, standard operating procedures, methods, etc.). Perform a wide range of analyses (routine and non-routine) primarily but not limited to the molecular, cell biology, and virology test areas of Biopharmaceutical Services. Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability, set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department, and willingness to learn molecular biology technology.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• PCR technique exposure/experience

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular or cell biology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.. with additional hours, as needed.
