Job summary

Marzetti Company in Kentucky is seeking a sanitation associate to thoroughly clean and sanitize the processing and packaging areas and all production machinery to maintain a clean plant environment. The role offers an hourly wage of $22.84 and a night shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing equipment, equipment breakdowns, workstation cleaning, restroom upkeep, and adherence to GMPs and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally with colleagues and supervisor/manager.
• Experience in industrial environments and handling sanitizing chemicals and non-toxic food products.
• Mechanical ability; forklift and pallet jack operation training helpful.
• Read and comprehend cleaning chemical instruction sheets.
• Able to perform essential job duties.

Responsibilities

• Washes and sanitizes all processing equipment, pumps, blenders, transfer lines, hoppers, feed tubes and hoses.
• Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes filling equipment including hoppers, feed tubes, vibrator feeders, drop tubes, filler hoppers and augers.
• Cleans entire processing workstation: tables, conveyors, floors, walls, air hoses, dust collectors, weighers, scales and mounted fixtures.
• Empties and cleans all trash receptacles in production and warehouse.
• Washes plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas.
• Bales residual corrugated and stacks pallets and barrels from previous shifts.
• Follows master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisor.
• Cleans all restroom facilities.
• Washes floors using floor scrubbers, vacuums, air hoses and mops.
• Cleans up debris and refuse from exterior of plant.
• Adheres to GMPs, Code of Safe Practices, SOPs and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and related programs; conforms to standards.
• Works safely and maintains a quality-oriented attitude in the workplace.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Overview

Completely cleans and sanitizes the entire processing and packaging area and all production machinery used in any given workday to ensure the entire plant is kept in a clean, neat condition.

Hourly Wage - $22.84/hour
Monday - Thursday 5:00PM - 5:00AM

Responsibilities What You'll Do

• Correctly washes and sanitizes all processing equipment, pumps, blenders and transfer lines or production machine blocks, hoppers, feed tubes and hoses.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes all filling equipment including but not limited to hoppers, feed tubes, vibrator feeders, drop tubes, filler hoppers, augers.
• Cleans entire processing workstation including tables, conveyor chains, floors, walls, air filter hoses and dust collectors, drop cards, air and electric drops, check weighers, scales, and wall mounted items such as fire extinguishers, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers.
• Empties and cleans all trash receptacles in production and warehouse areas.
• Washes plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas.
• Bales residual corrugated and stacks pallet and barrels from previous shifts.
• Follows master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisor.
• Cleans all restroom facilities.
• Washes all floors by using floor scrubbers, vacuums, air hoses and mops.
• Cleans up debris and refuse from exterior of plant.
• Adheres to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.

• Works in a safe and accident-free manner and follows all safety procedures while maintaining a quality-oriented attitude in the workplace.
• Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management.
