Job summary

Wayne Metals LLC in Markle, Indiana seeks a Robot Operator to run production equipment and ensure parts meet customer specifications.

You will load/unload parts in the robot weld fixture, operate the robot cell, perform basic hand-tool work, forklift movement, and labeling per work instructions, while maintaining a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts in the robot weld fixture and operate the robot cell.
• Run jobs that do not require mig welding as directed by team leader.
• Drive a walk-behind forklift to move materials around the department.
• Use hand tools (grinders, dyna files) for finishing and cleanup in the department.
• Package and label parts according to work instructions and report labor via the manufacturing system.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work area and follow safety rules.
• Support quality system requirements and perform quality checks as trained.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation of production equipment to produce quality products meeting customer specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. A robot operator will be able to perform all the general operations required for loading and unloading the parts in the robot weld fixture and operating the robot cell.
2. Under the direction of the team leader the robot operator will be assigned to run jobs that do not require the skill of mig welding however the operator must be able to identify defects in weld quality with training.
3. The robot operator must be able to drive a walk behind forklift and move material around the department.
4. Must be able to use hand tools like grinders, dyna files and general tools that are necessary to remove weld berries and to perform other general labor operations in the department.
5. The operator must be able to package and label parts according to work instructions and perform labor reporting through the manufacturing information system.
6. Must maintain a safe, clean, orderly and hazard-free work area, promote safety at all times and have knowledge of all safety rules, seeing that all work is done in a safe manner.
7. Must comply with Wayne Metals, LLC quality system requirements, defect/error prevention and waste reduction. Will be required to do quality checks. Will be trained and use SPC systems in place for production operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or equivalent training or work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of arithmetic.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of welding defects

• Report any environmental concerns to team leader, Environmental Management Representative, or the Shift Manager.
