Job summary

New York Air Brake LLC in Riverside, Missouri, is seeking a 2nd shift Repair Technician 3 to support assembly, testing and troubleshooting of braking systems. Starting pay is $19/hr plus overtime eligibility. Training on day shift is provided. Benefits start on day one and safety/drug/background requirements apply.

Role emphasizes monitoring test codes, assisting with valve failures, and coaching peers on assembly accuracy while adhering to health, safety and environmental policies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

2nd shift: Mon - Thur, 4:45 PM - 3:15 AM + overtime Fridays

Candidate will train on day shift: Mon - Thur 6 AM - 4:30 PM

Starting pay depends on experience; $19/hr +

Benefits start day one

Must pass drug, background, physical, and audiogram to start.

Essential Functions

• Monitor the function of each test code part.
• Understand the testing process when valves fail.
• Instruct and demonstrate other employees when there are assembly errors.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
• Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Must understand and support all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Capacity
• Proficient in all Level 1 and Level 2 Skills.
• Proficient in understanding the test code.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to understand what part of the valve is affected when failing tests.
• Ability to complete rack repairs on a timely basis on failing valves.
• Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
• Good mechanical skills
• Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
• Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.

Required Education and Experience
