ClimateMaster, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician I to support quality assurance across products and processes. Under direction from the Quality Manager, you will assess conformity to specs and help improve cost of quality while promoting safety and quality with other departments.

The role includes preventing production stoppages by flagging issues, auditing, and collaborating with production to resolve problems. Requires a HS diploma or GED and 0-3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of plant level quality experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills with AS400 and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Inform Quality team of quality issues with potential to stop production.
  • Ensure procedures and processes are followed.
  • Provide support to production on quality-related items/issues.
  • Perform product and process audits as required.
  • Complete end-of-shift reports to share information between shifts.
  • Inspect product in production, receiving inspection, and RT as required.
  • Collaborate with production to resolve issues.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Quality Technician I performs these duties with minimal direction and supervision.

The Quality Technician I performs these duties with minimal direction and supervision.

  • Inform Quality team of quality issues with the potential to stop production
  • Ensure that established procedures and processes are being followed
  • Provide support to production for quality-related items/issues as needed
  • Perform product and process audits as required
  • Complete end-of-shift reports in order to share information between shifts where applicable
  • Inspect product in production, receiving inspection, and RT as required
  • Versed in MT process for transfers to RT and rework process as required
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve issues
  • Perform other tasks as required/assigned

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

0-3 years of plant level operations/quality experience in a high mix/medium volume environment is preferred.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills with familiarity with AS400, Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Certificates & Licenses

Company certification(s)- wiring, leak test, run test, brazing (understanding) or ability to acquire based on level requirements.

Other Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, wire diagrams & drawings, assembly directions, engineering and manufacturing decoders. Ability to write simple correspondence. Understand time phase schedule for production support. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
