Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Tech III in the City of Industry, CA lab. This role supports quality testing and documentation duties across aerospace components, working on-site within the City of Industry facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality lab testing and document results.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, routers, blueprints, and drawings in English.
  • Use micrometers and calipers; record test data.
  • Verify material compliance and prepare lab documentation.
  • Interface with auditors and customer representatives as needed.
  • Back-up Visual Inspection, Sorting and document scanning as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Good communication skills & know basic shop math
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Basic understanding of work instructions, routers, blueprints, drawings, and specifications in English
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as required
  • Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Able to follow and carryout instructions
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Become familiar with the Daily Management board and understand covered topics as required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use/be trained on proper use and reading of micrometers and calipers
  • Must be able to pass vision test
  • Can interface with auditors and customer representatives
  • Able to use sampling plans, drawing, instructions, standards and specifications to verify product acceptance with assistance
  • Ability to prepare quality lab documentation
  • Reviewing raw material for compliance with appropriate specifications
  • Able to ensure all testing is complete with accuracy and results are legible
  • Able to perform 2 of the 6 tests (with assistance if needed)
  • High Cycle Fatigue Testing
  • Stress Rupture Testing
  • Microhardness Testing
  • Macro Examination of samples
  • Tensile Testing
  • Ability to mounting, polishing, and etching samples for micro and macro examination
  • Ability to perform with general knowledge 4 of the 6 the following tests (with minimal assistance)
  • High cycle fatigue testing
  • Stress rapture testing
  • Microhardness testing
  • Macro examination of samples
  • Tensile Testing
  • Capable of performing test set-up, load determination, testing, calculation of test results, interpretation of test results, recoding, and reporting test results per specification requirements
  • Ability to be back-up for Visual Inspection, Sorting and document scanning as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Quality Experience required
