Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Production Technician for the 2nd shift to operate and monitor machining and automated equipment, ensuring high-quality parts and safety compliance. You will load components, perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and rotate across lines while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints and instructions, and the stamina to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Able to read work instructions, charts, graphs, blueprints, and use measuring tools.
• Orientation and basic skills training completed within the first month.

Responsibilities

• Load components into production machinery and automated equipment.
• Operate machines for washing, welding, boring, mounting, drilling and other processes.
• Control machine operations using control panels and automated systems.
• Report malfunctions or quality concerns using the Andon system.
• Monitor performance to meet specifications and production goals.
• Conduct visual inspections for porosity, defects, and finish quality.
• Read and interpret work instructions, charts, and blueprints.
• Rotate through multiple production lines and processes as assigned.
• Replenish materials and maintain inventory at workstations.
• Perform 5S housekeeping and support Kaizen/Quality Circles.
