Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor candidate to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, banding, and securing materials while maintaining accurate inventory and production records.

Responsibilities include following company policies, assisting in other areas as needed, and participating in safety and CI programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
